Measuring Fuse Resistance
In the field of audio fuse is something that can interfere
with sound quality. But its present is needed for safety.
When certain amount of electric current flowing through a fuse a
voltage drop occurs due to the resistance of the fuse and the magnitude
of this voltage drop is different in each fuse depending on the value
and quality of the fuse
My measurement is to find out how much the fuse resistance is by
measuring how much the voltage drop that occurs in the fuse when an electric
current is flowing.
The greater the fuse resistance, the worse the sound quality will
be.
This measurement only measures the resistance of the fuse, when the
fuse is working there is also a voltage drop between the fuse and the fuse
holder where the fuse is mounted.
Technically, this measurement proves that replacing fuses with good
quality ones provides more sound quality than replacing power cords.
Based on this experience, I also assumed that replacing inductors
and capacitors on passive speaker crossovers with the same value but better
quality, would improve the sound quality far more than just replacing the
speaker cable from the power amp to the speaker.
