Background

    A simple amplifier circuit with fewer components in its signal path but supported with high quality power supply, will sound better than a complicated amplifier circuit where there more components in its signal  path  but supported by insufficient power supply.

Power supply's  quality is the point where a power amplifier designer must start, because the final quality of the amplfier design is so much determined by power supply quality.
If we try to describe in percentage, power supply quality may determined the total amplifer quality in as much as 70%.
So if you have done the right thing to improve  electric supply quality  to your amplifier,  you will get more benefit  than from  the other ways to improve amplifier quality such as changging power cord, interconnect cable, speaker cable, etc.

 
Apllications
   
    Power 90 capables to supply 90 W of very clean electric supply continuosly, with the variation from line supply in as much as +/-10%. The main target application of Power 90 is for front end equipment such as CD Player/transport, Preamplifier, Active Crossover or any kind of application as long as the total consuption lower than 90W.

    As can be seen on picture above the driving signal from Power 90 is being generated by analog oscillator which produce 50Hz, 60Hz, or other frequency by request. To achive very clean sinewave the output of analog oscillator first fed into the Low Pass Filter to remove all unneccessary harmonic  which may still available  inside the fundamental frequency.
The output from Low Pass Filter will be very clean sine wave and finally this sinewave will feed into the HVPA ( High Voltage Power Amplifier) to produce high quality 220V electric power without using any step up transformer.
HVPA is the thing that make Power 90 very superior compare to others power generator product available in the market.
The absence of step transformer will make the overall output impedance of the Power 90 become very small.



The Advantage of Power 90

As can be seen  on the picture above is the block diagram of conventional power generator from other manufacturer.
There are three thing that make them inferior to Power90.

1. The application of  DSP Oscillator
    Basically DSP oscillator consist of ROM  (Read Only Memory) loaded with sinewave in the digital form. The way it produces sine wave is by read and convert the digital sine wave into analog signal repeateadly. The sinewave from DA Converter inside the DSP osillator can not be perfectly clean, because it still contain the sampling frequency from DA converter.
   

2. The application of Audio Power Amplifier
    The maximum output voltage from an audio power amplifier is roughtly around 60VAC, so if there are 2 audio power amplfiers configured in bridge mode, the maximum output voltage from those two power amplifer can only reach 120VAC.

3. The application of  Step Up Transformer
As already explain above,  audio power amp can pnly produce maximum 120VAC so then finally the application of step up transformer can not be avoided.


The absence of Step Up transformer  will cause Power 90 superior to the other power generator product in term of :

1. Lower Output Impedance

2. Higher Efficiency

3. Smaller in total weight and dimension ratio.
